Thanks Pali for the official announcement, been waiting for the Australian launch for a while. Can you talk about how reward programs are going to work in Australia? From your google IO 2016 presentation it looked like one needed to tap the phone on the terminal twice, first tap for the reward card, then second tap to pay. But since that was an US retailer demo I wonder if it'd be the same here? Cheers!
Interesting article, The big question that we face today is whether online payments are safe mode of payments especially using mobile phones? It is true that Discount coupons, loyalty cards, boarding passes can be flown to customers mobile using the NFC. Digital wallet and the beacon technology can go hand in hand. Mobile payments are becoming more mainstream with the technological advancements in the digitized retail arena, attracting more and more actors in to the scene. Retailers are opening themselves into adopting point-of-sale systems that accept mobile payments, integrating it with their larger proximity marketing measures. Several factors are prominent in driving substantial growth in mobile payment, especially in the US. bfonics recently launched its new product ‘Proxpay’ which is a payment API that can be integrated into the mobile wallets. Play store says "Install Android Pay on any NFC-enabled Android device (KitKat 4.4+)." but apparently it's not compatible with any of the 5 devices I have linked to my google account. My OPO has NFC, but apparently can't install Android Pay.What's the deal?
Good article. I like the article and post. Thanks for sharing this post.pub payments australia
I have downloaded Android pay and uploaded my Visa debit card and used it no problem. I also uploaded my Virgin Velocity card as a loyalty card. I have made 2 purchases at BP and my Visa card debited no problem but my Velocity points have not been allocated to my Velocity account. I emailed Velocity and was advised I have to take my card out and swipe it to get points?? Does anyone know what the go is?
